I-lan, is an agricultural town famous for its veggies. This place is a few kilometers inland, in the middle of a huge, flat coastal plain used as rice paddies. From a distance the isolated buildings of I-lan appear floating on the water in some eerie way. The quietness of the place adds to its uniqueness. Once here tourists can feast their eyes on all round greenery with squirrels and birds and fish

Alishan is not a single mountain, but a range on Taiwan's spine, averaging 2,500 meters in high and with the highest peak Datashan (大塔山) reaching 2,663 meters. Taiwan's highest mountain, Yushan (3,952m) is easily visible from Alishan.

For the past two centuries, Yingge has been known as the ceramics center of Taiwan. The town’s cobblestone-lined Yingge Old Street (鶯歌陶瓷老街), Japanese colonial-era architecture and world-class ceramics museum are all especially picturesque in the autumn sunshine.

Taipei has been the de facto capital of the Republic of China (ROC), commonly known as Taiwan, since the Chinese Civil War in 1949, and the capital of Taiwan since Japanese rule that began in 1895.

Beyond a doubt, Shi Lin Night Market is one of the most famous night markets in Taipei, making it a long-time favorite among residents and tourists, locals and foreigners. Located in the Shi Lin (Shihlin) area, it surrounds Yang Ming Theater, extending in all directions as far as Wen Lin, Ji He, Da Dong and Da Nan roads.
